Pupil Premium and Sports Premium
Pupil Premium
Attached below is our Pupil premium strategy for 2024-2027.
At St Austins we are committed to ensuring all our children have equal opportunities to achieve their full potential. To ensure this happens, schools in England are provided with additional funding through a pupil premium grant.
Pupil Premium is additional to main school funding and is used to close the gap between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.
Our Allocation of Pupil Premium for the year 2023/2024 is £100,640.
At St Austins we aim to address challenges faced by disadvantaged pupils by completing a needs analysis which will identify
priority classes, groups or individuals will benefit. We plan to provide additional educational support to improve the progress and to raise the standard of achievement for these pupils
Sports Premium
Sports Premium is additional funding from the Government that is allocated directly to primary schools across England to improve the provision of physical education and sport. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport and will see money going directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of PE and school sport for all their children.
The additional funding must be spent on improving the provision for physical education and sport.
Our school recognises the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of our children. In addition, it is considered that an innovative and varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all children. We are required to publish on-line information about how we have used the additional funding, including details about our sporting provision alongside curriculum details and details of Y6 pupils who can swim 25 metres. Please download report for further details.
St Austins will receive an estimated amount of £17,780 for the 2024/25 school year.
We will spend the Sports Premium funding to make further improvements to the curriculum and opportunities for pupils by:
• Providing additional PE and sport activities.
• Participation in a broad range of competitions including partnering with local sports teams to deliver this.
• Providing continuing professional development opportunities for staff through a team teaching approach.
